The Leader and Founder of the Ghana Evangelical Society, Apostle Prophet Enoch Immanuel Amanor Agbozo has taken a swipe at the various political traditions for the country’s current state of development, describing them as a “failure.”

“The Nkrumah CPP/NAL Nkrumah-socialist-pan African emancipation system, the Kotoka/Afrifa liberation movement, the UGCC/UP Danquah/Busia/Dombo plan for Ghana-Africa, the Acheampong SMC redemption plan and the Rawlings PNDC revolution have all failed. None has proven, stood or is standing as the spiritual, philosophical and ideological base for building the nation.”

At a press conference in Accra Thursday to introduce what the society calls “A call unto the celebration of the new Ghana by Jehovah,” Apostle Agbozo said “none of the traditions has any right to claim the title as redeemer and father of the nation.”

He said their emancipation and redemption plans and revolutions did not succeed neither did their regimes succeed in building sound, viable and lasting spiritual, political and social foundations, systems, structure and development that have stood and can stand the test of time after they have left the scene.

He said political intolerance and rivalry is the main reason for the country’s woes adding “the parties themselves who want to rule have no peace. They are always fighting among themselves. How can they offer quality leadership?”

“In the days when politicians and political parties and the military compete and view themselves as liberators, redeemers, revolutionaries and fathers of the nation are over,” he declared.

He said the mission of reconciliation, deliverance, redemption and establishment of the church, people and nation in God became a special commission of the society over 30 years ago and were committed to encouraging people to get close to God.

Apostle Agbozo said God has chosen Ghana as the star of Africa saying “Ghana has known peace and is engaged in establishing a state of peace, righteousness and justice, freedom and liberty through the democratic process because of the direct divine intervention, mighty and purposeful works with the church and people of the country.

“The people of Ghana irrespective of tribe, belief, religion and practice have an abiding and enduring spirit and sense of peace and reverence to God the creator and this is a serious asset for us in Ghana.”

He said God has revealed to him to tell all Ghanaians to use February 28 as the date for the celebration of the new Ghana He is establishing, adding “we envisage Ghana becoming the church. We have become the model for Africa and if Ghana prospers, Africa will prosper.”
