Thursday July 4, 2011.
A 10 year-old girl in a village near Assin Fosu in the Central Region has been defiled by her cruel teacher Alex Acquah aka Teacher Kofi.

According to the Assin Fosu District Police, Teacher Kofi, 32 lashed the poor girl during classes’ hours and later in the evening allegedly defiled her, causing her to become sick.

Teacher Kofi, a Class Teacher at Assin Chiano Municipal Assembly Primary School was arraigned before a Magistrates’ Court at Assin Fosu yesterday charged with defilement.

He pleaded not guilty and was remanded until August 15, by the court presided over by Mr. Joseph Blay.

Presenting the facts, ASP J.K. Ansu, Assin Fosu Divisional Crime Officer told the court that somewhere in June the victim returned home from school with cane marks and sores at her back and when she was queried by her mother she pointed fingers at Teacher Kofi of being behind it.

The police said the bursting with anger mother took the victim to the teacher’s house for him to treat her (victim) and in the process teacher Kofi applied some medicine on her and asked the girl to come back in the evening for another round of treatment.

When she went back Teacher Kofi took advantage of her vulnerability and defiled her after which he warned her not to disclose it to anybody including her mother or else she was going to die.

Fearing she was going to die, the poor little girl kept her ordeal but after about three weeks she began to exhibit symptoms of sickness until the mother persuaded her to explain what was happening to her.

She finally broke her silence on July 28, 2011 and told her mother about her ordeal at the hands of Teacher Kofi.

The mother upon hearing the information quickly informed the police leading to the arrest of Teacher Kofi.

According to ASP Ansu report of medical examination of the girl indicated that she had been defiled.
