TB JOSHUA CAUSES PANIC! POLICE RUN HELTER SKELTER

Popular Nigerian pastor Temitope Balogun Joshua, commonly referred to as Prophet TB Joshua, says he has seen a vision that there is going to be a terrorist attack in either his country Nigeria or Ghana within the next few days.

The revelation has jolted the Ghana Police which have put its men on red alert.

Prophet TB Joshua made the chilling prediction whilst addressing his congregation on his Emmanuel Television live telecast at the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Lagos, Nigeria on Sunday.

Fear and panic was created because prophesies of the Nigeria mega tele-evangelist had mostly come to past with Ghanaians who believe in such spiritualities wondering if it is the turn of Ghana to witness the deadly terrorist attack.

“I want us to come together and pray for these two nations: Nigeria and Ghana because I am seeing Thursday, Friday, Saturday –if I may say Thursday – because these evil people they are very funny.

Anything can just happen. You will be very shocked to see what happened, because when the prayer is going in this direction they [attackers] dodge this direction.”

“I see Thursday, Friday, Saturday pray for these two nations over attack. I am seeing attack. And that will be in a foreign way. The attack will come not in a local way. Please for these two nations for protection.

He said “the evil one is saying can ‘we go this way or can we go that way?’. Anyone that is free they want to enter so pray for protection.”

The pastor kept repeating Thursday, Friday and Saturday and said the attack will not be an internal issue but a foreign invasion.

Calm
Following the announcement of the potential terrorist attack on Ghana, the Ghana Police Service urged Ghanaians to remain calm.

In a statement issued on Monday, the police assured the public that “security agencies have jointly put adequate measures in place to forestall any terrorist attacks or disturbances.”

“All the requisite operational strategies, including intelligence gathering and tactical deployment of personnel have been unfolded to nib any breach of the peace in the bud. In view of this, the Police is seeking the co-operation of the general public in the fight against the scourge of terrorism and other violent crimes. The public is, therefore, implored to bear with the Police any inconveniences efforts to deal with the situation may cause,” it added.

The statement further entreated Ghanaians to be vigilant and report any “suspicious parcels or items” left at public places and other vantage points, as well as “questionable characters” to the Police for necessary actions to be taken.

TB Joshua’s prophesy comes on the back of terror alert issued by the National Security Council which said countries within the West African sub-region are at risk and not ruling out Ghana particularly with hosting of two suspected Al-Qaeda terrorists detained at Guantanamo Bay in the United States.

Three countries in the West African sub region- Mali, Cote D’Ivoire and Burkina Faso were recently attacked by terrorists aligned to Al-Qaeda.

Christian Council
In the ensuing debate, the Christian Council of Ghana has asked the security agencies to exhibit high level of professionalism and not run the system on the “back of prophecies.”

General Secretary of the council Rev Dr Kwabena Opuni-Frimpong told Joy FM yesterday that it was time for the security agencies to put in place measures at various ports of entry to avert any possible terrorist attack and leave prophecies for Christians to pray about.

The Christian Council believes that the security agencies in Ghana are not doing enough to prevent possible terrorist attacks, saying “even before prophecies or anything, we have been told that the security people have given that signal… but ask yourself, what has changed? What is different?”

He cited the installation of cameras on high streets in Kenya and said security agencies in Ghana must beef up security in the country. He said security had been beefed up at the Kenyan Airport and its environs when he attended a meeting there recently.

“In this country, (however), anybody who drives a V8 (vehicle) with tinted glass does not stop at police check [points]…the police allow them to go. We must be professional. Yes, we have prophecy and everything, but we must be responsible and do what [they] are supposed to do. We should not sustain fear and panic," he said.
