The Annorwe Royal Family of the Prampram Paramountcy in the Greater Accra Region has warned the Ayiku Wem Family to desist from fomenting trouble in the area.

According to the Annor We Family, the Ayiku Wem Family of Larpklerh is claiming what did not belong to them in the paramountcy and added that they would stop their (Ayiku Wem) attempt to disturb the peace of the area.

Numoe Osabu Abbey IV, Stool Father of Prampram Traditional Area said in a news release yesterday that they have alerted the security agencies including the Inspector-General of Police about the activities of the Ayiku Wem Family members including claims that they were entitled to appoint the next person to occupy the stool of the Prampram Traditional Council following the death of Nene Tetteh Djan III.

Numoe Abbey said in the release that “it has come to the notice of Annor We Royal Family that some clan - Ayiku Wem, Family of Prampram are claiming inter-alia that, they are the first settlers on Gbugblah lands.

They also claim that they gave out the land at the beach to be used for the building of Fort Venom. They went further to say that, currently, they are the fetish of Ayiku.”

“We have to say that, Ayiku Wem Family of Larkplerh alone does not constitute Larkplerh Division. Larkplerh is a division which constitutes Agbazo Wem, Oshang Wem, Adimli Wem, Ayiku Wem, Oshaku Wem, Otsomor Wem and others.”

According to the Stool Father, the divisional chief for all the families is called Nene Tetteh Eyum from Okle Wem adding “It will interest the public to know why the Ayiku Wem people could not occupy even the stool of the Larpklerh.”

“The fact is that the Ayiku Wem people came to occupy the beachside of Prampram but later fled the coast only to resurface again. By then Nii Annor of blessed memory had also come to discover the western side of Prampram known as Anor Kwame,” the statement said.

The Stool Father went on to list all the names of chiefs who occupied the Prampram Paramount Stool and said it has never involved the Ayiku Wem Family.

He warned that they would not allow anybody to disrupt the laid down customary rules in Prampram.
